We wish to advise that The Captains Choice Tour has been the most exciting tour we have been on. We are extremely satisfied that we chose your tour. We had good company on board. We were treated with first class service all the way.
R & B Healey, Around Australia by Private Plane
Bound for strikingly beautiful coastlines, where contrasts and cultures captivate. We’re ready to discover Vietnam as we fly with Qantas to Singapore today.
We’re spirited to the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore in time to relax before tonight’s Welcome Dinner.
Amid the hustle and bustle of the city, we slip past designer boutiques and rustic flea markets with our local guide. Colonial buildings stand next to soaring skyscrapers. Street vendors tempt us with their fragrant offerings.
We join Silver Muse and enjoy the first of many lunches on board. Enjoy a glass of Champagne as you settle in to your suite. Singapore’s glitzy harbour dazzles this evening.
Explore your new home during a relaxing day at sea. Book in for a massage or spend the day by the pool with a cocktail in hand.
Our passage north across the South China Sea has taken us to Vietnamese shores.
Despite being renamed Ho Chi Minh City, most Vietnamese still refer to the city as Saigon.
Our afternoon discovery includes City Hall, Reunification hall and the sprawling Ben Thanh Market. You will be surprised at what you can find here. At the site of the former US Embassy, we recall images of the dramatic helicopter evacuation of 1975.
Silver Muse stays docked in the city overnight, allowing more time for us to explore.
The morning is yours to enjoy at leisure in Ho Chi Minh City. Or, embark on a Your World experience.
The glittering city fades into darkness as we set sail tonight.
A relaxing day at sea is a welcome interlude from the frenetic pace of Ho Chi Minh City. Eight restaurants serve up a range of impeccable meals throughout the day.
The white sand beaches of the east coast are wonderfully complemented by graceful colonial cities. Design your day with a choice of Your World experiences.
Ethereal green waters and limestone formations embellish the horizon. We arrive at World Heritage-listed Ha Long Bay today.
We disembark our ship to join a local junk, spending the afternoon on the superbly coloured waters. Imposing karst formations, some topped in lush jungle, dwarf our boat. Between untouched islands and dim caves, fishing boats trundle across shimmering bays.
Over the course of the afternoon you may like to jump aboard a kayak. With every motion of our paddles, the famous peaks become ever closer.
Today is spent exploring Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi. Wide boulevards and French architecture contrast with a constant weave of bicycles, cars and scooters. Tiny alleyways hide markets and street food vendors.
With a local guide, we see how French colonialism and Vietnamese tradition converge. The Temple of Literature, Ba Dinh Square and One Pillar Pagoda are among many highlights of our city tour. Wind your way through the busy city streets aboard a cyclo before lunch at Wild Rice restaurant. At glorious colonial mansion in the French Quarter, we feast on contemporary Vietnamese cuisine.
Time to reflect with a peaceful day at sea. Further east we cruise towards China.
Perhaps you’ll call on your butler and order breakfast in bed or sit out on your veranda to enjoy the panoramic ocean views. The day is then yours to make the most of the amenities aboard Silver Muse. The chance to unwind with a cognac in the Connoisseurs Corner is the ideal way to end a perfect day on the water.
Hong Kong, the very definition of a city that never quite switches off. Here, East meets West in a quest for commercial success. We disembark Silver Muse and delve deeper.
Amongst the spiralling chaos, a sensory feast, we deconstruct the city. Ride the Peak Tram to Victoria Peak for panoramic views of Hong Kong. A sea of steel and glass glitters before us. From Aberdeen Fishing Village, we cruise aboard a sampan before browsing the famous markets of Stanley. What treasures will we find? It’s a treat to finish our journey at The Peninsula Hong Kong. There’s certainly no finer residence.
We get together one final time for a Farewell Dinner. While we don’t want to spoil the surprise, we can guarantee tonight’s send-off will be one to remember.
Our hotel rooms have been reserved for a late check out. Perhaps a sleep in is in order before enjoying some last-minute retail therapy. Or, stop for some authentic dim sum.
We meet our Qantas flight home this evening.
Arrive home this morning with a rosy holiday glow. We hope to see you on your next Captain’s Choice adventure.
Sometimes travelling can be a chore, distracting you from the fascinating places you are in. That’s why everything mundane has been moved behind the scenes. You will never have to carry a map, luggage, small change for tips or bargain for a taxi fare.
Taking to the water in 2017, Silversea’s extravagant new flagship vessel, Silver Muse, is a new beacon for luxury travel. This ship embodies the ultimate in opulence and comfort, boasting the highest number of large suites in the fleet, as well as more dining options than any other deluxe ship. With a wealth of enhancements to the onboard experience, Silver Muse blazes the way for a new era in luxury cruising.
During your time aboard Silver Muse, you’ll enjoy the best of everything, including a range of sublime restaurants, lounges and bars to complement an extraordinary array of facilities. The size means we can dock right in the heart of big city ports one day, and explore rarely seen harbours the next. When you are one of just a few worldly guests on board a small ship, your experience is highly personalised. And with almost one staff member to every guest, you will always be indulged with the kind of service that encourages you to completely relax – with a perpetually full flute of Champagne if you wish.
There’s always something for you to do if your schedule includes sailing days. Wake early and join a yoga class, grab a coffee with a historian as you approach your next port, or while away an afternoon by the pool. After dinner, perhaps meet friends at the bar for a night of cocktails and dancing, try your luck at the casino or head to the Show Lounge, where performances range from opera to Broadway-style. Or, delight in the rare opportunity to do nothing at all.
